Zeynep Baransel Korman 

Visual Arts (High School)

Zeynep is a cum laude graduate from the Fine Arts Academy of Florence. She holds an Associate Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration from Lorenzo de’Medici Institute and a professional qualification in Printmaking from Il Bisonte. She completed her MA in Visual Arts at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and began her PhD in Art History at Istanbul Technical University, which led her to contribute to the founding of the art journal e-skop and to work as a content creator, translator and editor. An award-winning translator, she has since then translated more than fifteen published books.

Her career as an art educator began in 2007, first by teaching in universities, then by teaching IB PYP Visual Arts. She has been teaching in high schools since 2017. Her areas of expertise are IB Visual Arts and AP Art and Design. She has been working as an IB VA HL Process Portfolio and VA Extended Essay Examiner since 2020.

As an artist she explores the potential of the human figure to convey inner and interpersonal dialogues. Grounded in observational studies, her work employs simplification and distortion of form. Her artworks have been exhibited in various exhibitions across Europe, and held in private collections. Primarily a draughtswoman and printmaker, she has also been deeply engaged in ceramics since 2022.
