Photography 1
This course introduces students to the basics of digital photography, covering the entire process from capturing images through to output for print and web. Students capture images using digital cameras, mobile devices, and scanners. As students begin to understand the digital world, they are expected to collect their own images, work toward mastery of the technical issues of exposure, make connections between their images and their thematic goals, develop a working understanding of the elements and principles of art and design, and then create photographs and photographic illustrations. Images are manipulated using Adobe Photoshop CC. All students finish the course with a portfolio of their images. Completion of the course is preparation for advanced photography work, the IB Visual Arts course, and AP Art and Design 2D (AP Photography).
